So What Do We Think – Our Verdict

If you like having fun with Drones then this is definitely the one for you.

We think this is the perfect starter Drone for beginner pilots and ideal for Kids !!

Whilst this is a Minidrone, it’s still packed with very cool and sophisticated features plus the added bonus that it can shoot cannon balls, grab stuff, take photos and perform stunts – fantastic !!

It’s also quite friendly…..

Parrot Mambo - Main 4

On a more serious note, the Parrot Mambo has an advanced flight controller and high-performance sensors, so this makes it very easy to pilot and control.

In addition, you can either press a button to take off and land or simply throw it up in the air.

Either way, this clever little Drone will stabilize and hover on take off and await your further commands, even if you let go of the controls.

It also is equipped with an automatic ‘shutdown system’ which will cut off the motors should you experience a crash or collision, saving on costly repairs…

The Parrot Mambo does not come with a controller in the standard package, so you need to download the app and use your smartphone which is no real issue.

If you prefer to use a controller, you can purchase one very easily, but it’s definitely not necessary.

Parrot Mambo Phone Control

The user interface is very simple and easy to use.

Once you log in and activate Bluetooth, it should automatically pick up your Mambo and if you have added any of the accessories.

Take off, landing and performing stunts such as reverse direction, rotate and flips are all at the push of a button, making controlling your Mambo very easy indeed.

The same is the case for taking photos, although this is a fixed camera underneath and without a gimbal so is quite limited.

You have a choice of how you want to pilot our Mambo.

You can stay in the default “Joypad Mode” and use the virtual joysticks which are easy to learn or alternatively change to “Accelerometer mode” which works by tilting your smartphone in the direction you want your drone to go in.

It’s your choice.

The Grabber and Cannon accessories are incredibly simple to attach and are then picked up automatically.

They are activated by the touch of a button so it couldn’t be easier.

Whilst the average flight time is around 6 to 8 minutes, this goes quickly when you’re having fun.

With a recharge time of around 30 minutes, it’s definitely worth considering some extra batteries.
